Once your training is complete:
As an experienced Radio Communication Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of
high-end two-way radio products to include: portable, mobile, repeater, microwave, and control equipment from
manufacturers such as Motorola, ICOM, and Kenwood, Zetron, and others. Providing On call 24/7 service in rotation.
Follow written and/or verbal instructions and daily service schedules to do repairs.
Ability to perform equipment installations from two-way radios in vehicles, one site repeater systems to large multi-site
Follow tests procedures, schematics, and other instructions and troubleshoots to the component level (analog and digital
circuitry) with the use of instrumentation and test aids.
Ability to work both in field and on bench as work requires.
Ability to troubleshoot without schematics.
Fill out requisition for parts needed to perform repairs.
Fill out repair report with a detailed failure analysis, and noting correct assembly/model numbers, physical damage,
cosmetic defects, functional defects, components replaced.
Communicate with customers by phone on repair orders and product troubleshooting.
Notify supervisor when not meeting scheduled target dates.
Interface with Service Manager on the completion of service reports.
Support supervisor on the training of fellow technicians.
Fluent in using instrumentation (service monitors, oscilloscope, watt meters, frequency generator, frequency counter, etc.)
Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite & Tools.
Experience in dealing with customers.
High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
AS degree in Engineering, RF Communications or equivalent certification/experience.
FCC or equivalent desired.
